October 10, 2024 - Bucks for Kids Board is deeply grateful to the Vanderlely’s Truck Sales & Service in Ottsville, PA., for their recent donation of $8500. On Saturday, September 7, this family-owned business hosted a truck show that featured about 200 big trucks—polished to perfection -- displayed for viewing, inspection and climbing. Kids as well as adults enjoyed this spectacular event. And of course, the event included a food truck, raffles, silent auction. Even with the rain that poured by mid-afternoon -- it was a success.
Years ago, their warehouse caught fire and the Vanderlely’s were so touched by the love and concern of neighbors that they decided to “pay it forward.” Bucks for Kids is certainly grateful for that!

September 24, 2024 - Bucks for Kids Board is deeply grateful to our Youth Ambassador – 17-year old Layla Gentile, her mother Beth Gentile, and dozens of other generous teens who helped Layla plan and facilitate a “3 on 3 Basketball Tournament” on September 7. About 15 teams participated at Herbst Memorial Field and players ranged in age from 3rd grade to 12th grade. And their efforts paid off: these young people raised $3,000 for Bucks for Kids! The proceeds reflected team sign-up fees, t-shirt sales, sponsors, individual donors, food sale, a 50-50. This team of young people did an outstanding job of coordinating this event from beginning to end and enjoyed playing basketball as well! June 10, 2024 - The Catholic Women of Bucks Giving Circle met at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church in Yardley hear speakers Nancy Larkin Taylor and Dawn Padanyi of Bucks for Kids. This group of dedicated women serve the needy in our community by organizing several fundraising activities throughout the year. At this April 2024 Awards Ceremony, they issued grants to Bucks for Kids, as well as Yardley-Makefield Fire Company; Bucks County Housing Group; Penndel Food Pantry; A Woman’s Place; Family Service Association; Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter; Pennsbury Scholarship Selectees Meghan Crohe, and Gianna Mathas. December 3, 2023 – Sauers Cares partnered with Bucks For Kids for an afternoon of family bingo to benefit “extras” for children in foster care throughout Bucks County. The sold out event, hosted at the Warminster VFW, included 15 games of bingo, all called by Santa, with sponsored prizes geared toward children ages 4 through 16. The afternoon began with a visit from Pennsylvania State Representative Brian Munroe who came by to wish the event good luck. After event participants had an opportunity to enjoy cups of hot chocolate and delicious treats from the bake sale, Santa Claus made his big entrance. After each five game set, families had the opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa. “The bingo event that Sauers Cares hosted was such a great time! It was so fun to spend time with my niece and celebrate the season while also supporting a local charity. I love the mission of Sauers Cares, the way they lift up and give back to the community. We can’t wait for the next event!,” Lisa Witman, event participant and Hatboro resident said. Proceeds from this event benefitted Bucks For Kids, a nonprofit organization that funds “extras” for children within the Bucks County foster care system by way of caseworker requests. Typical requests include funding for tutoring, music lessons, clothing, beds, uniforms, computers, graduation and prom expenses, college application fees, class trips and other “extras” that other children often take for granted.
